Stahls E- News

Remember that jacket you put away last spring? Get it out. Because Saturday's weather is predicted to be on the cool side, and you don't want to get chilled. But you sure don't want to miss the Stow Community Farmers' Market, because it's the last one of the 2014 season. In the last 4 months we've seen new vendors, new items, and been out in sun, rain, wind, and just about every weather except snow -don't worry; Saturday won't be that cold. We've seen old familiar faces, new customers, and even some new humans (aka babies).

Speaking of new humans, this week's musical guest is Mike Harvan. Mike's fairly young, but he's not that new. He and his lovely wife are expecting an addition in the spring, though. So by next year's market, we'll get the opportunity to watch another young Harvan join sweet Estelle in growing up in front of our eyes!

So how is Stahl's going to commemorate the last market of the season? Well, the calendar's turned to October, and the Cleveland Indians are finished for this year, so we're replacing Monarch Butterfly & Baseball Frosted Cookies with Jack-o-Lantern, Witch, & Ghost Frosted Cookies. But in case you don't want to be scared by your cookies, we'll bring Fall Leaves & Acorns, too. Caramel-Filled Brownies, Pizzelles, and Czech Pastries have requested one last visit to Stow, and Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffles will be comfortable in the predicted chilly temperature. Although the Pumpkin Fosted Cookies don't actually taste like pumpkin, Pumpkin Pie & Pumpkin Walnut Muffins do, so they'll be showing themselves off. Cherry-Cheese Tea Rings and Cinnamon Rolls are making a bid to join in, but the big noise this week? Rye Bread! Rye Bread is good all year long, but something about Autumn temperatures make a heartier bread like this especially welcome.

Faithful Servants Care Center will be joining us this last week at the community booth. Check them out at and then stop by the booth on Saturday for more information, or just to encourage them in this good work.

Don't forget to hang around for the Stow Community Church's harvest fest. Hot Dogs & pie will be served, so contrary to popular opinion, DO come hungry!

See you Saturday.
