So, wasn't that a heat wave? Or do you count two days as a “wave?” Hopefully, this week's surprise 90+ weather is also the last gasp before our weather settles down into the beautiful kind of Autumn we know in Ohio. This is the time of transitions, for sure. Hot into mild, humid into dry, summer into fall, and for Stahl's Cookies, Watermelons into Fall Leaves and Pastel Butterflies into Monarchs.

Some things don't depend on the transience of season, though: we'll still be at the Stow Farmers' Market Saturday from 9:00-12:30, and the bread we're making this week is Dried Tomato-Basil, which is just as good any time of the year. And other things don't really change, but the cooler weather allows them to be more comfortable. That's why the Caramel-filled Brownies won't be oozing caramel out, and why we'll be able to bring more cupcakes & full-sized cakes – because the frosting will stay where it belongs, not running down the sides. Other things like Muffins, Czech Pastries, and Traditional Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal-Raisin, Peanut Butter, Sugar-Nutmeg, and Gingersnap) provide a nice continuity through all weathers & seasons.

All in all, it's shaping up to be a great weekend to head outside: Besides us, the Stow Farmers' Market will be hosting The Summit County Master Gardeners group - now's the time to ask any mum & bulb questions! And folk singer Dale Galgozy will be on the musical stage.

Then down the road back toward Kent, the KSU Airport is having its annual Aviation Heritage Fair. This year, the two keynote speakers are veteran WWII pilots Bob Withee and Ralph Lynn in addition to the regular festivities like plane rides, flyovers, and don't forget the 7am pancake breakfast by the Stow Munroe-Falls Kiwanis. Here's the link: Too. Cool.

See you Saturday!
