Autumn! The time when colorful leaves fall from the ceiling and industrious squirrels start to lay in their winter stores. Have you seen them scurrying across telephone lines with brushes and other art supplies firmly grasped in their bushy tails? Wait, what? “...brushes and other art supplies...?!?” Not really: that's actually a scene created by the clever folks at All Media (www.allmediaartsupply.com) for their display window. These are art squirrels, so naturally they'd be ignoring nuts in favor of paint tubes!

Pictures don't really do All Media's fall scene justice: you really should come to see for yourself. Perhaps we can lure you out this way with something to stuff into your own cheeks. This weekend's bread will be Oatmeal-Molasses Bread. We'll also have Cinnamon Rolls, Sticky Buns, and Cream Cheese Bearclaws, not to mention Muffins, plus Frosted Cookies dressed for fall: Jack-o-lanterns, Autumn Leaves, Acorns, and Witches & Ghosts.

Need another reason to abandon leaf-raking to venture out this Saturday? How about “The Running of the Squirrels” & KSU Homecoming? On Saturday morning the festivities will spill out onto Main St. as the Homecoming Parade makes its way from campus to Franklin Ave. Sneaky hint: Stahl's customers get free parking & a great view right on the parade route. It might still be a little chilly at 10 am, but that's o.k: we'll be making hot coffee & hot chocolate, too. And don't forget this year's new fun activity, “The Running of the Squirrels!” No animal training is necessary: these squirrels are printed on ping pong balls. Buy as many as you'd like from McKay Bricker Framing (www.mckaybricker.com), or Off The Wagon (www.offthewagonshop.com), and gather with other squirrel jockeys at the corner of Main & DePeyster before the Homecoming parade to release the round rodents down the hill. Bouncy, bouncy!

See you soon!
