...the other in the summer

It's so hard to let go of summer (unless you work in a bakery)! Even when you've outgrown the joy of summer vacation – because you've outgrown having summer vacation – there's something special about the informal feeling of summer. But school's back in session, the calender's flipping closer to fall, and it's time to get back into the groove of regular weekly schedules for kids and adults. Not that we have to completely abandon the outdoors all at once. For instance, this Friday, D.I.C.E.* will be hosting the August Sidewalk Cinema at Hometown Bank Plaza (formerly Home Savings Plaza). Bring a blanket or a lawn chair, because this is outdoors! To shake things up a little, it won't be a movie being shown; nope the projector will be rolling 4 episodes of a TV series...a Twilight Zone marathon! The show starts at dusk, but get there early to see the Children’s Dance performance “Beyond Gravity.” You can bring your own popcorn, but Little Ceasar's will be providing free pizza, so come hungry. This is the last show of the season, so don't miss out.

There are other outdoorsy things still going on; high school & college football games are gearing up, of course. And some farmers' markets are still rolling along. The Stow Community Farmers' Market, for instance. That's the one we'll be at this Saturday. But with one foot in the groove of fall schedule & one foot in the fun of summer, we'll be bringing Honey Whole Wheat Bread , Frosted Cookies, Coconut Macaroons, Pizzelles, Muffins, and Czech Pastries. The bread is 100% whole wheat, and is great for brown-bagging, the frosted cookies are still in fun summer designs of baseball, butterfly, and watermelon, but also great for packed lunches. Speaking of packing lunches, we'll be bringing Traditional Cookies also; Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal-Raisin, Peanut Butter, Sugar-nutmeg, and Soft Gingersnap. Talk about a no-brainer; they're already packed three to a bag...ready to toss in lunch bags!

See you Saturday!
