The last two Saturdays have been pretty busy for us, with the Taste of Kent on April 21, then last Saturday we participated in the downtown block party as part of the “Who's Your Mama?” festival. Yep, it went on despite rain, sleet & snow. That's “Your Mama” for ya! This week we're staying close to home, but still very busy. Saturday we'll be making Italian Bread, Almond Petit Fours, Czech Pastries and Cinnamon Crumb Coffee Cake among other things.

We're not the only busy ones this week, though. If you recall, KSU's Christmas vacation was a week shorter this year than in the past. So everything's been moved up a week for the students, making this finals week, and this Sunday, graduation. If you see students being quiet, reading books, and drinking excessive amounts of coffee – you'll be able to tell by the way they fidget – it's best just to quietly tiptoe around them. We're also going to be busy for the end of semester with graduation cakes. Lots of gold and blue frosting spattering around this weekend! Amazingly, many of them are for out-of-town/out-of-state students, which means we owe an extra “Thank You” to our webmaster for getting us some national attention. Thanks Shane of Logos Bookstore! And very best wishes to the fresh batch of students graduating this weekend!

The voting for the Fox8 Hotlist is still open until Friday, so if you haven't already voted us as your favorite bakery, there's still time. And don't worry if you voted for another bakery...you can always get back in and change your vote!
