Or maybe that should be, “All Rye, already,” since that’s the bread we’re making this weekend for the Haymaker Farmers’ Market.  Yep, all the pleading, begging, and nagging has certainly paid off. But mostly the polite requests.

Full-loaf bread isn’t the only thing we’ll be bringing; for something small & savory, we’ll have Herbed Focaccia topped with tomatoes from Chaykowski Farm, red onions from Bella Terra Farm, and rosemary from Black Dog Acres.

But what market Saturday would be complete without a few sweets?  We’ve got you covered there as well:  Frosted Autumn Leaves (they’re cookies, not real leaves with frosting on them:), Coconut Macaroons, Cherry-filled Chocolate Cupcakes, and Traditional Cookies (Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal-Raisin). For something a bit more decadent, try Caramel-filled Brownies or Almond Petit Fours. And if you want to treat the whole family, we’ll be bringing Chocolate Sunflower Cake. What we won’t be bringing this week is potables, since it’s too cool for Iced Coffee and too warm for Hot Chai.  But a couple of our market neighbors can help you out there; K.C. Coffee is brewing the hot joe on site, and Ornery Goat Dairy has cold, fresh goats’ milk.  Ooooh!  Put them both together!  Then have a seat at the picnic table and you can sit ‘n sip ‘n snack ‘n listen to our musical guest, Grlz Nite.

If you’d like to warm up your listening ears beforehand, hit “Folk Alley ‘Round Town,” the Friday segment of the 45th Annual KSU Folk Festival.  The entertainment starts at 11:30 am at Franklin Square Deli and goes “’round town” until 1 am. Thirteen and a half hours of free music! Here’s the link to the schedule: www.kentstatefolkfestival.org Check out the schedule to find your favorite singer/group, or start with your favorite venue & listen to someone new.

See you Saturday!
