Alright everybody, it's time to go back to work, back to school, and back to Stahl's for Curried Pumpkin Soup! Not too spicy, not too sweet, and served in a 16-oz. bowl with a roll for only $4.50. Want to make sure it's worth spending your lunch time on? Just ask & we'll give you a free sample.

Anything else (e-)newsworthy? Sure! The cookies keep coming, but the Silver Bells and Christmas Trees have given way to Snowmen, Snowflakes, and Giant Red Mittens. The Giant Red Mittens, by the way, can be had for a song. Well, really for a picture. Yep, it's that time of year - make a mitten picture for our wall and get a free Mitten Cookie! And as a bonus, you'll also receive all the fame and glory associated with having your art on our wall. So... good thing you're getting a cookie out of this deal, huh?

Have you heard about the new news source for Kent? It's an online service called “Patch,” which has been described as a cross between an online newspaper and the yellow pages. Local news, directory listings for businesses, and the ability of readers to comment make it sort of a one-stop-shop for local connectivity. And it's free! None of the content is restricted to a secondary paid subscription. You can get right into the front page by clicking here: www.patch.kent.com or if you want to get straight to our directory listing, click on http://kent.patch.com/listings/stahls-bakery We at Stahl's have no idea who wrote this description, but it's very nice! Makes you want to come right over and get something. You should give in to the urge: "Resistance is futile!" You'll notice that our local Patch (there are others throughout the country) is headed by editor Matt Fredmonsky. If you recognize the name, it's probably from years of his covering the Kent beat for the Record-Courier, which makes him well-acquainted with this area. There are other contributors, including Bob Burford of WKSU who has already written several reviews of musical performances. If you own a (legitimate) business and either haven't been included, or would like to find out about enhancing your listing - AKA advertising/marketing- click here to get in touch with KentPatch's Advertising Manager, Brandon Tidd at http://kent.patch.com/users/brandon-tidd. Stahl's has a special connection with both Matt and Brandon: Matt has written about us for the Record-Courier, and we were honored to make the cupcakes for his wedding, while Brandon first made himself known to Stahl's while still a student at Kent State. Back then he persuaded us to advertise with Black Squirrel Radio, KSU's on-campus radio station, and started this whole website silliness for us as our first webmaster. It's really fun to have known both of them for so long and a real hoot to learn that they just met each other through the startup of this venture.

See you soon!
