Well, this is turning out to be a pretty chilly Autumn! Don't worry, winter's around the corner*...maybe it'll warm up. Meanwhile, you can fortify yourself with some thick and hearty Beef Barley Soup from Stahl's Bakery (that's us!). 16oz. of comfort and sustenance, served with a roll for only $4.50. Zero degree wind chill? You won't notice.
You will notice some of the other goodies we've been making, though. Our annual “Christmas Specials” are back:Peppermint Pinwheels, Eggnog Drops, Fudge Pinwheels, and Pistachio LeavesAnise Pizzelles, of course, and Frosted Cutouts in Christmas designs – Holly Leaves, Christmas Trees, Stockings, and Christmas Lights, are joined this year by iridescent Silver Bells and Gold Ornaments.

Going to a party? Don't embarrass yourself by showing up empty-handed – we've got some party assortments already put together from $5.00 to $25. We can also make a tray to your preference. Top things off with some candy and add Raspberry Truffles, Peppermint Bark, or for the slightly naughty, Candy Coal. Need something a little more formal? The traditional French Buche de Noel (yule log) is a pretty darned impressive dessert/centerpiece. We make ours with a layer of chocolate cake rolled up with mocha frosting, and covered with chocolate frosting “bark.” You could really top it off with a hostess gift of wine from our neighbors-across-the-parking lot, 101 Bottles. They've got a wonderful selection, including some local vineyards. And don't forget the family pets! Dog Biscuits are back by popular demand, and this year we'll be making Cat Treats, so nobody feels left out of the feasting.

Saturday will be the last Haymaker Farmers' Market of the year, 9-2. Special thanks to the law offices of Williams, Welser, Kratcoscki & Can for sharing their enclosed garage with the market again! Of course we'll be bringing all the above goodies (except the soup), plus a few surprises and extras, including bread. This Saturday's bread will be Finnish Nisu. A beautiful braided bread flavored with cardamom and a nice holiday sweetness.
Our table is near the entrance, but of course you'll want to venture in and around a bit further. Even though the growing season is officially over in this neck of the woods, there's still produce to be had; apples, potatoes, winter squash, garlic, dried beans and chilies, to name a few. There are also three! place to get cheese, and Ornery Goat Dairy is also bringing their goat's milk eggnog... (mmmm!) along with goats' milk fudge and goats' milk soap. You can also pick up decorative greenery, and jellies & jams, and, and, and.... Another advantage of being in the enclosed space is that wherever you are, you can listen to the music! This week we'll have Peggy Coyle & Brad Bolton, then the duo of Galgozy & Zeleny, and to finish, Jon Mosey will provide the musical dessert. Enjoy!
