Well, since it's gotten pretty chilly, it must be time for Curried Pumpkin Soup! Served with a roll, a one-pound (16 oz.) bowl of this perennial favorite is only $4.50. Next week's soup; Beef Vegetable. We'll be setting up our soup schedule for November, so if you have any favorites you've been missing all summer long, let us know! You can either call at (330) 673-9244, e-mail at or post something on our Facebook!

Another thing it's time for? The annual D.I.C.E. (Downtown Community Events) CiderFest. This "Deciderly Different" get-together will feature delta blues by Mitch Reed and old-time music by the Kent Shindig All-Stars*, dancing by national flat-foot (clog) champion Charlie Burton, an apple press demonstration, and apples and cider from Beckwith Orchards. Pumpkins and paint will be on hand as a creative outlet for the kids, and Stahl's Bakery (that's us!) will be there with goodies. Most notably, Frosted Cookies, and mini-pies. What a great way to check out our pie prowess in time to order your Thanksgiving desserts! And this is the second year that local farmers from the Farmers' Market will participate, so if you missed stocking up last Saturday, here's your chance! This will be the last D.I.C.E. event until the “Make Mine With Ice Please” Ice carving demonstration in February of 2011, so come on down to the Home Savings Plaza from noon until 3.
