No! Well, maybe. But our bread for Saturday definitely will be. Oh, not the loaf itself, but what's inside. This Saturday at the Haymaker Farmers' Market we'll be bringing Cracked Wheat Bread. It includes cracked wheat, a bit of whole wheat flour, and brown sugar among other wholesome ingredients. No wonder it sells out. You'll want to get to the market early, or call to reserve a loaf or two. Feeling in a more traditional mood? Italian Bread returns after a week off.
Of course some things never leave, they just get redecorated. As the summer broils on, our tulip cookies have become pink and purple butterfly cookies, and the giant stars and stripes have turned into watermelon slices. But there are some things you just don't mess with; baseball cookies and black squirrel cookies, for instance. Since the market starts in the morning, it's only right that we bring some breakfast-y things. Cherry-Cheese Tea Rings, Cheese Claws, and those delicious two-cinnamon Cinnamon Rolls, for instance. And how about some of these...

Fruit Snails. Special thanks to our friends at City Bank Antiques for the loan of the beautiful plate in this picture! Here's their website; http://www.citybankantiques.com and definitely check them out in person. They're at 115 S. Water St., just around the block from the market.

Since you'll be grabbing breakfast anyway, you might as well rest awhile at one of the picnic tables under the bridge and enjoy newcomer Ashley Brooke Toussant, this week's "Music at the Market" entertainer.  And have you noticed that the Haymaker Farmers' Market not only has a website www.haymakermarket.com, but also a facebook page? Yep! Old fashioned market meets the computer age. It's a great marriage - not only can you stay informed, but the facebook page allows customers to share their own photos of market-bought marvels. (We keep hoping someone will upload pictures of some of Stahl's goodies, hint, hint)

See you Saturday!
